Drinking Applesauce

Casual dating is like drinking applesauce
It’s your only option when spoons are hard to come by
Sometimes you have to get a little creative to enjoy it,
But it’s not all that hard to do and it tickles your lips.
Sometimes it’s chunky, sometimes it’s not
But it fills you up just the same.
And, like drinking from the carton, no one else will touch it
Because you got to it first
So you have time to decide if you like it or not.
Getting a boyfriend, on the other hand, is like hunting for the spoon
First, you need the right size
And you have to check to see if it fits your needs
If it does, you’re committed to finish
Because you really don’t want to look for another spoon.
And what if there are no good spoons left? Then what?
The entire applesauce just goes to waste.
So let’s all drink applesauce.
